CRA · 11 DECEMBER 2027 DEADLINE

Compliance work starts before the deadline

Preparing a product for the European market? The main Cyber Resilience Act obligations apply from 11 December 2027 to products within scope. Reviewing dependencies, fixing software, testing updates, and preparing documentation takes time. Leaving this work until the final release gives your team fewer options.

The first deadline has already passed. Since 11 September 2026, manufacturers within scope must report actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe incidents affecting the security of their products.

Start with your product and release schedule: identify technical gaps, set priorities, and plan the work into your upcoming versions.

Where is your application exposed?

Does your software exchange data, use third-party libraries, or update on customer systems? We review these areas with your team and implement improvements suited to your LabVIEW application.

Excessive permissions, secrets in source code, unidentified dependencies, or updates that are difficult to verify: we start with your architecture and actual use to identify risks and plan the work.

OUR APPROACH

From application code to delivery

01

Review code and access controls

Identify network communications, user permissions, and how secrets are handled. Review components and their versions, then agree on the changes that matter most.

02

Control builds and updates

Connect released versions to their source code, integrate checks into CI/CD, and prepare executable and installer signing. Define how updates are distributed and verified.

03

Organize vulnerability handling

Connect reports to affected products and versions, assign ownership, and track fixes. Keep decisions, test results, and the information users need to take action.

IN PRACTICE

Practical changes to your project

We start by reviewing an application and its delivery process. We then agree on improvements with your team: code, configuration, build scripts, installers, or documentation. Our LabVIEW CI/CD and Qt Installer Framework work illustrates this delivery experience.

What you receive

  • An inventory of the components, versions, communications, and access controls reviewed.
  • Prioritized risks and actions, including areas that need further investigation.
  • The agreed changes and checks, with information your team can use for maintenance and future releases.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Before we start

Can we start without a CRA compliance project?

Yes. We can address a specific need: access controls, dependencies, builds, or software updates. CRA readiness is one possible part of the engagement.

How do you support Cyber Resilience Act readiness?

We review components, vulnerability handling, updates, and the records available in your project. We prepare technical work and information for your regulatory advisers. Article 14 reporting obligations have applied to manufacturers within scope since 11 September 2026; the main requirements apply from 11 December 2027.

Can a Canadian or US company be affected?

Products intended for the EU market can be within scope even when the manufacturer is based elsewhere. The product, your company’s role, and how it is marketed need to be assessed.

Does this include penetration testing or certification?

The engagement covers the technical work agreed for your application and delivery process. If independent penetration testing or conformity assessment is needed, its scope and qualified providers are defined separately.
