Follow the steps below to create an NI Installer for your BLT-wrapped application:


1.Make sure that your BLT executable Build Specifications have been configured using the procedure described here: Configure Build Specifications

2.From the LabVIEW Project of your application, right-click on "Build Specifications" and select New > Installer

3.In the "Source Files" category, select your EXE Build Specifications and click on the arrow to add it to your Destination folder:

4.If you want to include Run-Time Engines to your Installer, make sure to configure them in the "Additional Installers" section:

5.Make sure to configure the other sections as needed, such as the "Shortcuts", "Version Information", etc.

6.Click "OK" to apply your settings

7.You can now Build your NI Installer by doing a right-click on the Installer Build Specifications you just created and select "Build":

Note that your first need to Build and Distribute your application before you can build the Installer.



If your application has a Splash Screen associated to it, you'll need to perform the additional steps below in order to have the Splash screen included with your NI Installer:


1.You first need to download the splashscreen.ini file for your Product so you can include it with your Installer Build Specifications:

oSelect the Product for which you want to download the Splash Screen file and click on the Product Attributes button:


oGo to the "Splashscreen" tab and select the Splash screen and select the Splash screen enabled for your Product.
Then click on "Save to file...":


oSave the file as "splashscreen.ini" into your LabVIEW Project folder:



2.Add the splashscreen.ini file to your LabVIEW Project for your Product:


3.Open the properties of your Installer Build Specifications and create a new Destination named "BLT_data" in the default installation directory:


4.Go to the "Source Files" section and add the "splashscreen.ini" file under "My Computer" to the "BLT_data" destination folder on the right:


5.Click "OK" to apply the changes.

6.You can now Build your NI Installer by doing a right-click on the Installer Build Specifications and select "Build":

Note that your first need to Build and Distribute your application before you can build the Installer.
